Questions & Answers (Q&A)
Traditionally, the tendency for one's face to start to go "south" would lead most people to a plastic surgeon in search of a surgical facelift. However, for the first time in Britain, there is now a 100% non-invasive treatment available which can lift, contour and suspend the sagging tissues of the face and neck. Unlike other thread lift procedures (e.g. Silhouette Lift) which require a small incision in the temporal area be made, this Miracle Frame Thread Lift treatment requires absolutely NO INCISION.

1. What is Miracle Frame Thread Lift?
Miracle Frame Thread Lift is a revolutionary facelift technique that requires absolutely NO INCISION. It is performed under local anaesthetic in 60 minutes and without any downtime.
2. Why is Miracle Frame Thread Lift different from other thread lift procedures?
- Unlike other thread lift procedures (e.g. Silhouette Lift) which require a small incision in the temple area be made, Miracle Frame Thread Lift requires absolutely NO INCISION i.e. it is 100% non-surgical.
- The threads used in Miracle Frame Thread Lift treatment is much longer than those used in other thread lift procedures, allowing a much wider facial coverage. One fundamental advantage is the creation of a frame to give the skin and deep tissues a more robust suspension (the "frame-lift" effect), ensuring a long-lasting effect.
- Higher number of threads used in this procedure ensures stronger suspension and longer-lasting results. On average, 10-16 threads are used on each side of the face compared to only 4-6 threads used in other thread lift procedures.
- The threads used in this treatment are one of the most innovative threads to date. The microscopic barbs on the threads anchor themselves in deep tissues, creating tension and lift the sagging tissues. This is followed by fibrosis around the threads to produce much stronger and semi-permanent suspension.

4. How is the procedure performed?
The procedure takes place in 5 stages: Fixation > Insertion > Deployment > Anchoring > Frame-lift Suspension.
This treatment, which is performed under local anaesthetic, is quick and takes less than 60 minutes. Using a fine guiding needle, and from the temporal area above your ear, the threads are inserted into the underside of the skin, and along the contours that have been marked on your face by your doctor.
The positions of the threads create a 'frame', after which microscopic barbs on the threads attach to the underside of the skin and gently suspend the skin and secure it in the desired position. The excess thread is trimmed so it does not appear above the skin surface.
5. Do I need to have anaesthetics?
In most cases, only local anaesthetic is required. Dr Bong may also offer you the option of having light sedation, depending on the extent of the Miracle Frame Thread Lift you are having and the number of threads to be used. General anaesthetic is not necessary for this procedure.
6. Is it safe?
Over 2500 procedures have been performed worldwide without any serious problems. The Miracle Frame Thread Lift is performed under local anaesthetic with absolutely NO INCISION. Unlike traditional surgical facelifts, the treatment is easily reversible.
7. How long is the procedure?
Insertion and positioning of the threads is quick and takes less than 60 minutes.
8. What type of results will I see?
The effects are immediate. During your consultation, Dr Bong will demonstrate in the mirror, the relative amount of lift that can be achieved with the Miracle Frame Thread Lift.
9. Can this procedure be combined with other cosmetic procedures?
The Miracle Frame Thread Lift is a standalone procedure. However, it is not uncommon to have this procedure combined with botulinum toxin (Botox) to reduce facial muscle activity, dermal fillers to enhance volume, or peels and laser therapy to improve skin texture. Liposuction of the neck and jowls and chin augmentation are some of the other procedures that can be done in conjunction with a Miracle Frame Thread Lift procedure.
10. How much of a lifting effect can I expect?
Results vary from patient to patient depending on the extent of sagging and the degree of lifting required, as well as the number of threads used in each area treated. Many patients can achieve a 50% improvement after one treatment session.
11. What can be done if I don't like the result?
The Miracle Frame Thread Lift is entirely reversible. Dr Bong can remove, replace, or reposition threads as needed.
12. What are the areas which can be treated?
- Jowls
- Nasolabial (nose-to-mouth) folds
- Brows
13. What are the side effects?
Though side effects are few, there may be slight swelling, bruising, and redness immediately following the procedure, all of which generally dissipate in the first few days. There may also be some minor discomfort after the treatment, which can be treated with simple paracetemol. As with any minor operations, there is a very small chance of infection, so we routinely give antibiotics to minimise this risk.
14. How long is the recovery time?
Though side effects are few, there may be slight swelling, bruising, and redness immediately following the procedure, all of which generally dissipate in the first few days. Facial movement should be somewhat limited for about two to three weeks; however you may resume your normal activities immediately after the procedure.
15. What kind of care is required after the procedure?
You will find your facial movement should be limited for the first 2 weeks. It may also be uncomfortable to laugh.
For 3 weeks after the procedure, you should avoid rubbing of the face and try to sleep on your back. Try not to contort your face into severe animations or put pressure on the face, and avoid excessive mouth opening. After 3 weeks you should be able to resume normality in these areas.
You can resume normal activities (light walking, sitting up, watching television, computer etc) within the hour. You should "take it easy" during the first few days after your treatment. This means no heavy exercise, no excessive talking or exaggerated facial movements, no facial massage, no shaving of your face, scrubbing, rubbing, or sleeping upon your face for five days.
16. Who is a candidate for the Miracle Frame Thread Lift?
Women or Men, typically starting in the late 30s with mild to moderate facial laxity. If you have had a surgical facelift previously, but are again experiencing sagging skin, you may still be a good candidate for this treatment. Younger patients who are looking for subtle changes with brow or cheek, jowls or neck sagging or are wishing to delay signs of ageing are also excellent candidates.
We also provide a combination treatment with Botox to reduce wrinkles and dermal fillers to restore volume which has been lost through the ageing process. In addition chemical skin peels may be recommended to address problems caused by photo-ageing and pigmentation.
17. Who is NOT a good candidate?
Patients who have very thin, fragile, slack and aging skin.
Very heavy sagging or jowly faces.
Faces that are very thin with very little facial fat.
18. What is the cost of the Miracle Frame Thread Lift?
Prices vary according to the amount of work necessary and, therefore the number of threads needed to achieve the required result. This procedure tends to be cheaper than a conventional face lift due to the fact that it is quicker to perform and does not require a consultant anaesthetist present. You also do not need an overnight stay in hospital. It is very affordable, costs only between £2500 - £3000.
We also offer interest free instalments, so you can have this procedure for as little as £400 per month. Ask about our special discount when you combine this procedure with other cosmetic treatments.
19. What about the results?
The results are first and foremost natural. Your appearance is less tired and your face is refreshed. This rejuvenation keeps all your expressions alive.
20. How many treatments will I need?
Usually only one procedure is needed to achieve the desired lifting effect.
21. How long do the results last?
Unfortunately, no rejuvenation procedures can stop the ageing process.
One treatment per area is usually all that is required to achieve the desired effect, with immediate visible results, even more so after about 3 - 4 weeks. However, the results continue to improve over a 3 - 6 month period as your own collagen begins to grow around the threads aiding the lifting effect.
The effects of this Miracle Frame Thread Lift are said to be 'semi-permanent', lasting in excess of five years until the threads lose their strength. The suspension is further supported by fibrotic (scar) tissue which forms around the threads.
22. Who performs the procedure?
The procedure is performed in our private cosmetic clinic by Dr. Kieren Bong. Dr. Bong is a fully qualified cosmetic doctor with full registration by the General Medical Council (GMC). His extensive experience and excellent track record of outstanding results in medical aesthetics is well known. Schedule your free consultation at our clinic today, and find out if the Miracle Frame Thread Lift is your miracle to a youthful image.
